Armenian teachers get to know Iran’s tourist gems
TEHRAN – A group of Armenian school administrators and Persian language teachers have paid visits to a number of places of interest across Iran.
25 school principals who have launched Persian courses in their educational institutions and the Persian language teachers from Yerevan, toured marvels within Isfahan, Shiraz, and Tehran during their eight-day stay in the country, Mehr reported on Sunday.
The tour intended to inspire and motivate the educators, enhancing their understanding of Iran’s rich culture and history. Previous arranged familiarization tours targeted groups of students, professors, and bloggers, who produced content about Iran’s tourist attractions for Armenian audience. This tour, however, was the first of its kind specifically designed for teachers, according to the organizers.
Earlier this year, Mohammad Asadi-Movahedi, the Iranian Cultural Attaché in Armenia, highlighted the significant role of cultural diplomacy in transforming international perceptions of the country, outlining that both elites and ordinary people should visit Iran, as traveling is the best way to counteract negative propaganda against the culturally rich nation.
“We’ve recently facilitated a visit for seven Armenian top bloggers to prominent Iranian cities including Kish, Isfahan, Kashan and Tehran,” the cultural attaché explained. “This move was part of our broader duty to engage in tourism advocacy.”
